Everyone should.
Wash your hands frequently
· - Wash your hands often with soap
and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you've been in a public
place, or after you blow your nose, cough or sneeze.
· - If soap and water are not
available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all
hand surfaces and rub them until you feel they are dry.
· - Avoid touching your eyes, nose,
and mouth without washing your hands.
Avoiding close contact
· - Avoid close contact with people
who are sick, even inside your home. If possible, keep a distance of 6 feet
between the sick person and other members of your household.
· - Keep your distance from others
outside your home.
· - Remember that some people who
do not have symptoms can spread the virus.
· - Maintain a distance of at least
6 feet (about the length of 2 arms) from other people.
· - Do not gather in groups.
· - Stay away from crowded places
and large congregations.
· - Keeping your distance from
others is especially important for people who are at greater risk of becoming
seriously ill.
Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face
shield when surrounded by people.
· - You could spread COVID-19 even
if you don't feel sick.
· - Everyone should wear a cloth
face shield when they leave their home, for example, to go to the grocery store
or to get other necessities.
· - Cloth face covers should not be
used on children under 2 years old or on people who are unconscious, disabled,
or unable to remove them without assistance.
· - The cloth face shield is to
protect others in case you are infected.
· - Do NOT use a mask intended for
health care workers.
· - Keep a distance of about 6 feet
from other people. A cloth face shield does not replace social distancing
measures.
Clean and disinfect.
- Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, door handles, light switches, countertops, rails, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, sinks, and dishwashers.
- If the surfaces are dirty, clean them. Wash them with water and detergent or soap before disinfecting them.
- Then use a household disinfectant. Most common EPA-registered household disinfectants.
